Happy Holidays from Tweak Your Slides

So, I’m spending the rest of today grading, but tomorrow begins my mad dash to finish Christmas shopping, wrap and bag presents (mostly bag, as I have no patience for wrapping paper), and print and mail my very own Christmas cards (one of which I have yet to complete).  Drowning in endless generic cards as well as my commitment to consistent design work has inspired me to create my own cards this year.

But, before I dive in to the holidays, I figured I’d get in the spirit with a throwback to an excellent and non-traditional designer of holiday greetings, R.O. Blechman.

Blechman's illustrations are the epitome of simplicity, often whimsical adaptations of everyday life.

I am inspired by Blechman’s minimalism, and his ability to find the holiday spirit in a few lines and shapes, as he did in his 1966 CSB holiday greeting:

I wish more holiday sentiments were as simple, clean, and moving!
